Over the Garden Fence: Garden clubs meet up in Marengo

This week the sharing is about a meeting that I did not attend. My intentions were strong. I had prepared, but at the last minute a family need called me away in the early hours of the day of our regional garden club meeting in Marengo. With 13 of our club members registered, the Ohio Association of Garden Clubs Region 7 meeting went on quite well.

From refreshments to decorations, even the program speakers were geared up to share the "four seasons" — that was the theme chosen by our director, Kristy Apt. A flower show offered opportunities to select a holiday or a season and interpret it.

For the first time, my preparations with the junior garden club members involved calling them to a workshop two days ahead. The wreaths for a season, a terra cotta pot with end of season flowers, and a collection of 10 pods labeled were completed in one evening.
