Tampa woman finally gets fence fixed, after garbage truck hits it multiple times

Tampa, Fla. (WFLA) - There was no disputing who damaged Elizabeth Nelson's fence on Jan. 3. She had video of a garbage truck hitting it three times.

But that proof wasn't enough to get the company responsible to help her - until Better Call Behnken got involved.

More than two months after the truck hit her fence, doing hundreds of dollars worth of damgage, it was repaired.

That's after we called officials with Hillsborough County. They said the damage was caused by their third-party contractor, Waste Connections. We sent the video to the county. We were told that same day that Waste Connections would take care of it.

It took more than two more weeks, but Nelson finally has the fence, and she's thrilled.

"I know if it wasn't for you, it probably still wouldn't be done because they just kept ignoring my calls, ignoring my calls," Nelson said. "And once you called them and let them you had footage, it was the same day they started working on it."
